Am I a weekend athlete?

It looks like it, doesn't it? Anyway, with my goal of getting faster, I tried to run faster today. It really took a lot out of me, but if I remember back to when running a mile took a lot out of me, maybe it is ok. Maybe instead of all the training plans that say you need 6 months to get 10 seconds faster (OK, I might be exaggerating, but that is how extreme they sounded to me!), I should just start over from scratch at a faster pace. So, today I ran faster. My watch says that I got to the 2-km point in 6:01, after which I had to walk until I caught my breath, then tried to start back at the same pace. That didn't last long, so I was just barely pushing myself and the trip back was 6:34.
Unfortunately, that makes me a little suspicious. I thought my watch battery was dead but it came back, and it is 20 minutes behind. Is it actually "ticking" slowly and timing wrong? Let me see .... No, it seems like the stopwatch works. OK! I am faster!
